Faculty Cookie Exchange

Center High School faculty held their first annual Christmas cookie exchange on December 17.

I was looking up ways to bring people together in a workplace and found the Cookie Exchange idea,” coordinator of the event Sydney Brookshire said. “I kind of made up my own rules, but the premise was self-explanatory. I saw it and ran with it.”

Participating faculty brought cookies to eat there and cookies to take home as well.

“Basically, everyone brought 17 sample cookies and 17 bags of cookies to-go,” Brookshire said. “Participants sampled the cookies and then when we left we were able to take some to our families. All of the cookie samples came with recipes, so I will be extra busy this holiday!”

Some of the cookies brought to the party were Red Velvet, Low-carb chocolate chip, peanut butter, and no bake cookies.

“I brought Rolo bites which are sorta cookies and sorta candies mixed together,” participant Susan Penick said.

Overall, most people in attendance thought it was a success, and expect this event to happen next year.

“I will certainly send out an invitation. Hopefully folks will come back,” Brookshire said.
